Help Me with Unbelief!

Written by: Yvika Arre Love

Many of us struggle with believing, but today I want to empower you in your faith. The scripture states that it is impossible to please God without faith and if anyone comes to Him must believe that God exists and that He rewards those who sincerely seek him (Hebrews 11:6). I want to explore Mark, chapter 16 in this article and how it can encourage us in believing. Belief is an attitude that something is the case or that some proposition about the world is true.

Our belief is our attitude about the word of God which can be either true or false based upon how we view it.

Before we go any further ask yourself these questions:

  1. What is your attitude about the word of God?
  2. What are your struggles about believing and why?

In Mark 16, the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome came to purchase spices, that they might come and anoint Jesus, but His body was not there. As you continue to verse seven, we find that the angel of the Lord stated: But go, "tell His disciples and Peter that He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him, as He said to you.”

How many of us can say we have read the word, received prophecies, know the promises of God, but what happens when life is presenting you a different outlook or a view contrary to what God has said to you.

  • Do you continue to believe?
  • Do you cause your faith to be moved? or
  • Do you take on an attitude that no matter what God has said to you or what you have read in the Bible will stand true for your life.

As we continue, Jesus first appeared to Mary Magdalene and she went and told the others that have been with Him that she seen Jesus, but they did not believe. Then Jesus appeared in another form to two of His disciples and again when it was told to the disciples they did not believe. Later He appeared to the eleven as they sat at the table; and He rebuked their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen Him after He had risen.

The gospel tells us that the disciples spent a span of 3 years with Jesus, where he taught them about the word and what to expect. However, the minute that He was not among them, they became weak in their faith and their expectations had decreased. Many of us struggle with believing because we have no faith or little faith, and we are not spending time in our word. The Bible says that faith comes by hearing and hearing the word of God. How else can we be encouraged if we do not know who we serve or how to stand during trails. God has given us so many tools to help us in our walk of life. Read and apply the word of God in your life and stand in expectations for the manifestation.

Remember:

  • Abraham never wavered in believing God’s promise. In fact, his faith grew stronger, and in this he brought glory to God. He was fully convinced that God can do whatever He promises. And because of Abraham’s faith, God counted him as righteous. And when God counted him as righteous, it wasn’t just for Abraham’s benefit. It was recorded (Romans 4: 20-23 NLT)

  • Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” (Mark 9: 23 NKJV)

  • Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father (John 14: 11-12 KJV).

Be encourage and be intentional about spending time in your word and getting to know the God who we profess our faith in.

Thoughts to encourage the heart ❤. Yes, I am a firm believer in the Word of God, the Rhama as well as the Logos. It’s not always easy, but repeating the promise and especially when we verbalize it strengthens my faith. Thank you for sharing.

This was a great topic, now as for your questions my attitude about the word is, I believe what the words says. But my struggle is I sometime let unbelief slip in when I’m standing in the situation, because it’s very different working it out while you’re in it. Although this is not all cases.

Thank you for allowing God to use you to share this message of knowledge and inspiration to carry us further in our walk with God. To answer the questions:

What is your attitude about the word of God? When I read the word of God I wholeheartedly believe all that is written. I must say that in actual living although I know the written word of God, I have struggled with applying it to difficult trails. Not knowing the outcome was a struggle but that is the very foundation of faith. Knowing without actually seeing. My faith has increased as I continue to walk with God and to live in this earthly bodily because I have overcome some things that at the time I did not see a way of escape, but God provided and way a kept me the midst of the trails. I didn’t lose it, stay down, nor die like I imagine but I came out better at each trail. I thank God that he not a man that he should lie but he is faithful to his Word.

What are your struggles about believing and why? I think I struggled to believe because I took my eyes off the Word of God and focused more on the situation. The word clearly tells us that he’d keep in perfect peace those who keeps their minds stayed on him. The words also tells us that all we see with our natural eyes are temporary yet to me it felt like a never ending situation. But the Word proves to be true. I am in awe of how amazing God is.

Again, thank you! Continue share, inspire, uplift, and encourage all. ❤️
